The Coimbatore district police on Tuesday arrested a 49-year-old man on the charge of possessing 268 kg of banned tobacco products. The arrested was identified as K. Kumaragurubaran of Madukkarai.A police team was searching vehicles at Arivoli Nagar near Madukkarai on Tuesday evening as part of a special drive against drugs and other contraband substances and stopped a four-wheeler driven by Kumaragurubaran. The police found 268 kg of banned tobacco products during search.The police arrested him and seized the contraband and the vehicle.
