Two workers were killed and several others injured after a vehicle transporting diesel drums overturned into a roadside ditch near a quarry at Pillayapalli village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Tuesday morning.The deceased were identified as Niranjan, 21, and Satish Kumar, 22, both natives of Jharkhand. They succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital, police said.The accident occurred at the Shivaganga Aggregates Crusher Mill under the limits of Pochampally police station. A wheel loader belonging to the crusher mill was transporting diesel drums to the quarry area when the vehicle went out of control and overturned into a ditch alongside the road.Several workers travelling on the loader sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to various hospitals for treatment.On receiving information about the mishap, Pochampally police rushed to the spot, recorded the statements of the injured workers and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination. A case has been registered.Police said a detailed investigation is under way to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, including the technical condition of the vehicle, the possibility of driver negligence and whether any lapses on the part of the management contributed to the incident.
