Unidentified persons broke into Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Upamaka village in Anakapalli district and allegedly stole money from two hundis (sacred collection boxes).The matter came to light when the priests arrived the temple early Wednesday and noticed that the doors were unlocked. The police rushed to the spot after learning about the incident and began investigation.They collected samples from the crime scene and scrutinised the CCTV footage, in which two masked men were seen entering the temple premises and committing the crime.The money stolen from the hundis is yet to be ascertained.
