A restaurant in the Sunny Beach resort was heavily damaged by a fire that broke out on its premises on Wednesday morning, prompting a large-scale response from local fire services.
According to Burgas Fire Department Director Commissioner Nikolay Nikolaev, the blaze started in the kitchen area of the establishment. Emergency crews responded shortly after the alarm was raised at around 10 a.m.
The first firefighters to arrive were two teams from Nessebar. As the operation progressed, additional support was requested and a third fire engine from Burgas was dispatched to assist in containing the flames.
Firefighters managed to localize the blaze and bring the situation under control before it could spread further. “The fire has been localized and extinguished by the responding teams,” Commissioner Nikolaev said.
At the time of the incident, both customers and staff were inside the restaurant. Despite the presence of numerous people, authorities reported no injuries.
