Greece on Wednesday opened access for parents to the online platform of the government’s “Neighborhood Nannies” program, aimed at helping families with young children balance work and childcare responsibilities.

Social Cohesion and Family Minister Domna Michailidou announced that parents can now use the ntantades.gov.gr platform to search for certified caregivers for children aged from 2 months to 2.5 years.

The platform initially opened about a month ago for caregivers seeking registration in the program’s official registry and remains open to new applicants. According to Michailidou, it has already attracted significant interest, recording more than 81,000 visits. Around 1,500 applications have been submitted, while approximately 650 have been fully processed and approved following verification of the required documents.

The program provides monthly vouchers of up to 500 euros for parents who are employed full-time or self-employed, and up to 300 euros for part-time workers or those seeking employment. Mothers registered as unemployed with the Public Employment Service (DYPA) are also eligible without losing their unemployment benefits.

To qualify, a parent’s annual individual income must not exceed 24,000 euros for one child or 27,000 euros for two children. No income limits apply to families with three or more children.
