A Toronto man admitted on Tuesday to repeatedly stabbing his neighbour to death in the backyard of an east-end apartment building after complaining about the victim loudly playing gospel sermons on a radio.
Christopher Wood, 69, stood in the prisoner’s box in his orange jail jumpsuit and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the July 27, 2023, death of 61-year-old Etop Ituen. The two men lived in neighbouring apartment buildings on Coxwell Avenue, near Dundas Street East, that were managed by an organization providing support for individuals with mental health issues.
