Nasir Bello Kankarofi, Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, has warned criminal to stay off the streets as the passing out of 565 newly trained combat -ready constables marks the new chapter in crime fighting, saying tthe Police Constables are battle-ready after an intensive weapons and combat operations course that commenced on April 13, 2026.

Speaking at the Police Headquarters Lokoja, on Monday, Nasir Kankarofi, said the rigorous training was approved by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, and delivered to produce agile, smart and combat-ready officers to tackle crime, banditry, terrorism and other vices across the State.

Kankarofi also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering support to the Command during training and operations as he urged the graduands to remain dedicated, respect human rights and practise community and democratic policing.

He announced that officers who distinguished themselves during the training would be absorbed into the newly created Violent Crime Response Unit, an elite corps specialised in rapid response to violent crimes, which would be inaugurated soon.
