The ANZ bank is urging Samoan customers to stay highly cautious of scammers after reports of fake bank advertisements have surfaced, impersonating ANZ Samoa.
Country Head for ANZ Samoa, Sucharu Tandon, in a recently issued statement, addressed the rise of increasingly advanced and complex scams.
He said these deceptive activities use online platforms and deceptive advertisements to target and deceive individuals across various communities.
“Scams are designed to trick people into giving away money or personal information. Anyone can be targeted, and these fake ads are a reminder to stay alert,” Tandon said.
According to the statement, ANZ picked up on the fake ads and quickly got into action.
