ANZ has announced that its Country Head for Samoa, Sucharu Tandon, will step down in the coming months as his three-year assignment comes to an end.

During his time leading ANZ in Samoa, Tandon helped strengthen the bank’s operations, improve governance and risk systems, and support stronger services for customers and communities.

Tandon said it had been an extraordinary privilege to lead ANZ Samoa. He said the team had driven important changes and improved the bank’s resilience.

“At its core, banking is about people and relationships,” he said, thanking staff, customers, and stakeholders for their support. He added that he leaves with lifelong friendships and appreciation for Samoan culture.

ANZ’s Regional Executive for the Pacific, Sarah Stubbings, praised Tandon’s leadership, saying he contributed strongly to the Samoa business and the wider Pacific region. She said he led with integrity and helped strengthen trust and discipline within the organisation.
