MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora called on the public to respect due process and “allow legal process to take its course” as Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, a fellow San Juaneño, faces charges in connection with the flood control projects scandal.

Zamora said this as he referred to the Sandiganbayan as the proper venue for Estrada to “answer the charges against him and prove his innocence.”

“Let the court examine the evidence, determine the facts, and render judgment based on the rule of law,” said Zamora.
