MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and three of his co-accused in the plunder case in connection with the flood control scandal were admitted to the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas on Monday, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Citing information from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), in a statement late Monday night, the DILG noted that assistant district engineer Denryl Caesar Cortuna was admitted to the jail at 5:47 p.m.; while Estrada and district engineers Manny Bulusan and Arturo Gonzales Jr. were admitted to the jail at 8:15 p.m.

“Upon medical clearance, they were admitted to the general population in accordance with existing custodial procedures,” the department said.
