Two officials from a district military recruitment office in the Kharkiv region are suspected of receiving UAH 250,000 for arranging for a person liable for military service to be assigned to rear-line service.

This was reported on Facebook by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv Region, Ukrinform reports.

"The perpetrators were identified as two officials of the Chuhuiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, who are suspected of receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing a decision regarding military service. The suspects have already been served suspicion notices," the post said.

The suspects are one of the deputy heads of the district recruitment office and the commander of the security unit of the same subdivision. According to investigators, they received UAH 250,000 from a 38-year-old man. The servicemen were detained while the money was being handed over.
