Paul McCartney’s latest trip down memory lane is getting a collector-friendly vinyl release.
“The Boys of Dungeon Lane,” the Beatles legend’s new solo album, is available to order on Amazon following its May 29 release. The exclusive edition is pressed on white vinyl and includes a 12-page lyric booklet and embossed cover artwork.
The release arrives as McCartney returns with his first new solo album in more than five years, following 2020’s “McCartney III.” “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” was introduced with the single “Days We Left Behind,” a reflective track that nods to McCartney’s Liverpool childhood and takes its title from a lyric that references Dungeon Lane, near the Speke area where he grew up.
Fans and critics have noted that the album is perhaps McCartney’s most personal projects to date, turning back to his early life before Beatlemania, with songs that revisit postwar Liverpool, family memory and the friendships that preceded one of the most consequential careers in pop history. Across the record, McCartney looks back at the people and places that shaped him, including formative memories tied to John Lennon and George Harrison.
