Kakinada Member of Parliament Tangella Uday Srinivas has appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to urge the Union Ministry of Tribal Welfare to set up an Integrated Tribal Development Agency at Peddamallapuram to benefit 59 tribal villages in Kakinada district.The 59 tribal villages in Shankavaram forest area have been battling for inclusion of their area in the 5th Schedule Areas of the Constitution.On June 1, Mr. Uday Srinivas met Mr. Naidu during the ‘Pedala Sevalo’ programme in Tuni mandal and explained the difficulties the tribals face in the absence of the ITDA and the 5th Schedule status when it comes to claiming their entitlements .In an open appeal to Mr. Naidu, the MP has also sought the setting up of a branch of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth in the Kakinada district.
