The protest turned dramatic as demonstrators forcefully gained entry into the Government House premises amid heightened tension and resistance from security operatives.

Hundreds of protesters, including members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), on Tuesday stormed the Ogun State Government House, demanding the immediate release of schoolchildren and teachers reportedly abducted in neighbouring Oyo State.

The protest turned dramatic as demonstrators forcefully gained entry into the Government House premises amid heightened tension and resistance from security operatives.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, security personnel were seen attempting to lock an internal gate to prevent the protesters from entering the premises. However, the demonstrators resisted the move and struggled with the gate before eventually breaching the barricade and gaining access.

The protesters, many of whom carried placards and chanted solidarity songs, expressed anger over the continued captivity of the victims and called on authorities to intensify efforts to secure their safe release.
