Farmers in Virudhunagar district have been appealed to register their land holdings and ‘adangal’ (crop details) along with their Aadhar and mobile phone number under Agri Stack in order to avoid repeatedly submitting these details for availing themselves of the benefits of various Government welfare schemes.In a statement, Virudhunagar District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said that officials of Department of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and Department of Agri Business were taking up registration of land holdings at every village.The statement said that online submission of these details were mandatory for getting the assistance under various Government schemes.Besides, the farmers can also register those details in Agri Stack through common service centres. On linking these details, the farmers would get a unique national level land holding identity number.Out of the 94,682 farmers in Virudhunagar district only 79,302 farmers have registered themselves so far, the statement said. The remaining 15,450 farmers should participate in the special camps organised by the Department of Agriculture or approach the nearest e-service centre for registration.The assistance under PM-KISAN scheme would be given only based on the unique identity number.
