India’s coffee exports grew by a fifth in the first two months of fiscal 2027 to top $503 million during April-May, on higher demand from key buyers in Europe such as Italy and Germany.As per the latest data from state-run Coffee Board, the shipment volumes were up 36 per cent at 92,903 tonnes during April-May this fiscal over corresponding last year’s 67,910 tonnes.Exports were up 20 per cent in dollar value terms at $503.77 million over corresponding previous year’s $418 million.In rupee value terms, the exports during April-May were up 33 per cent at ₹4,752 crore over corresponding last year’s ₹3,567.85 crore.With the global prices witnessing a volatile trend, the per unit realisation of Indian exporters was a tad lower at ₹5,16,004 per tonne, down 1.7 per cent over corresponding previous year’s ₹5,25,377 per tonne.India, the seventh largest producer of coffees is the fifth largest exporter of the commodity. India had exported 4.05 lakh tonnes of coffees valued at over $2.12 billion during 2025-26. In rupee value terms, the coffee exports stood at over ₹18,809 crore and the per unit realisation was ₹4.64 lakh per tonne during 2025-26.Published on June 2, 2026
