A body of man was found in a decomposing condition near a canal opposite to Karamarathur bus stop within the limits of the Alandurai police station in Coimbatore district on Monday (June 1, 2026).The police rushed to the spot after being alerted and commenced an enquiry. Forensic experts opined during the preliminary examination that the death might have occurred three to four days ago. No external injuries or other suspicious signs were noticed on the body at the time of examination. The exact cause of death will be ascertained after further investigation and post-mortem examination, said the police.The deceased carried identity cards of one Mafijul Mondal (37), son of Saiful Mondal from North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal.
