Jaipur: Rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to continue across Rajasthan this week under the influence of western disturbances, keeping maximum temperatures below 45 degrees Celsius and providing relief from heatwave conditions, the Meteorological Centre here said on Tuesday.According to a spokesperson of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are very likely to persist in parts of the state over the next week. Another western disturbance is expected to become active around June 3-4, which may intensify storm and rain activity over divisions including Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer.During this period, gusty winds of 60-70 kmph are expected at isolated places along with rainfall, the spokesperson said.Read More: Heavy rains likely in 15 districts in Tamil Nadu till June 7, heat wave to continue in north coastThe impact of these weather conditions is likely to keep maximum temperatures below 45 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state, significantly reducing the chances of heatwave conditions during the week.Meanwhile, in the 24 hours till Tuesday morning, several places in the state recorded light to heavy rainfall. Malpura in Tonk district received the highest rainfall at 72 mm, while Phalodi recorded the highest maximum temperature at 43.8 degrees Celsius, the official added.
