A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has launched a blistering attack on President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alleging that Tinubu remains an unbeatable "master rigger" ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
Lawal, who famously fell out with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over its Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023, declared that no politician in Nigeria can match Tinubu if electoral manipulation determines the outcome of the next general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, the disgruntled ex-SGF predicted a sweeping, albeit compromised, victory for the incumbent.
When asked about his outlook for the 2027 polls and whether Tinubu had already secured a path to victory, Lawal replied bluntly: “Landslide. He’ll rig everybody.”
