Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has secured the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections, pledging to continue economic reforms and promote national development.
Speaking in Abuja after emerging as the APC presidential candidate in the party's nationwide direct primary, Tinubu said his administration would continue pursuing policies aimed at economic expansion, industrialization, energy security, infrastructure development, and food security.
Since taking office, the Tinubu administration has introduced a series of economic measures, including the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate reforms, which the government said are aimed at improving macroeconomic stability and boosting investor confidence.
The president also highlighted investments in infrastructure, including transportation, electricity, housing, irrigation, and digital connectivity. According to party figures, Tinubu received more than 10.9 million votes, defeating his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, in the APC primary.
