As a result of Russia's massive attack, power outages have been reported in Kyiv and six regions of Ukraine as of the morning of June 2.

Ukraine's national energy operator Ukrenergo said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"During the night and morning, Russia carried out a massive missile and drone attack on energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of the strikes, there are new power outages in Kyiv, the Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions as of this morning," the statement said.

Energy workers have already begun restoration efforts wherever security conditions allow.

Electricity consumption as of 09:30 on Tuesday was 8.2% higher than on Monday. Ukrenergo attributes this increase to cloudy weather and rain in parts of western and southwestern Ukraine.
