Supermicro has been working with the Taiwanese authorities to clamp down on the illegal export of its servers to China.

The company issued a statement on May 28 saying that is was “committed to protecting our advanced technologies and intellectual property” and had worked “closely with the Taiwanese authorities” to prevent the” illicit diversion of our highly sought-after systems into the restricted China market.“

It went on to note that the collaboration had resulted in the seizure of 50 servers that had been “deceptively acquired after being sold by Supermicro to an authorized reseller.”

The statement comes just over two months after three people with ties to Supermicro were charged by the US Department of Justice for allegedly conspiring to smuggle Nvidia AI chips into China.
