MANILA, Philippines – Consumers in the Visayas may have to conserve more energy as the grid continues to suffer from tight electricity supply on Tuesday.

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines placed the Visayas under yellow alert anew, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This, as major coal power plants remained offline, failing to deliver the needed supply amid an increase in power demand. The Department of Energy said on Monday that two of the coal facilities would return to commercial operations by August.
