With roots in an unlikely Lego experiment from years ago, a new self-calibrating device developed with the Air Force and Snap-on could make torque calibration faster, more precise and easier to sustain.
NIST and Air Force developed ENTR, a self-calibrating torque device with 0.1% accuracy, eliminating costly offsite calibration for military wrenches. On-site measurement ensures aircraft fasteners meet exact specs for mission reliability, cutting maintenance costs and downtime.
