MANILA, Philippines — There was “no right or wrong” in enforcing warrants to arrest lawmakers, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla maintained.

The Sandiganbayan on Monday had ordered law enforcement to arrest Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and four others over plunder complaints in connection with the flood control scandal.

Remulla, in a press briefing in Camp Crame, was pressed on comments that the government was rushing to arrest senators, which he answered: “There is no right or wrong answer in this. As soon as I got the warrant, I acted on it. The actual warrant arrived [at] my possession at 2:45 [p.m.]. And by 3:15 [p.m.], I was in the Senate.”
