Youths in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday staged a protest demanding the immediate release of abducted pupils, teachers, and the principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in the Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The protesters, who turned out in large numbers, denounced the escalating insecurity in the area and urged security agencies and the government to act swiftly to rescue the victims.

Carrying placards with bold inscriptions, the aggrieved youths marched through major roads, chanting solidarity songs in Yoruba.

Some of the placards read: “They Must Be Free, They Are Not Animals,” “Stop Insecurity, Enough Is Enough, We Are Tired,” and “Bring Back Our Kids.”
