MANILA, Philippines — Crime rates across the country dropped by 25.77 percent in May 2026, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a press briefing in Camp Crame on Monday, June 1, PNP chief, Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the police force recorded 2,149 focus crime cases from May 1 to 30, 2026; a drop of 746 cases from the 2,895 focus crime incidents during the same period last year.

Focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping.
