MANILA, Philippines — The crime rate in Metro Manila dropped by 39.06 percent in the past week, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Monday.

In a statement, the NCRPO reported 78 index crime incidents from May 18 to 24, 2026, down from 128 during the same period last year.

Index crimes refer to murder, homicide, rape, physical injury, robbery, theft, and carnapping.
