Authorities arrested 153 suspects in anti-cybercrime operations and referred 145 cases for filing for the month of May 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.In a statement, the PNP said of the 153 arrested from May 1 to 31, 2026 by its Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), 45 were arrested by virtue of duly-issued warrants, 45 were nabbed through entrapment operations, while 63 were arrested in the implementation of warrants to search, seize, and examine computer data.The PNP-ACG also referred 145 cases involving cybercrimes for filing, including 105 cases for regular filing and 40 cases subjected to inquest proceedings.In addition, the police unit also secured the conviction of 17 individuals in cybercrime-related cases.The PNP-ACG also enforced 140 warrants to disclose computer data aside from warrants supporting forensic and technical examination processes.It conducted 2,124 cyber patrols nationwide, completed 66 digital forensic examinations, and successfully rescued and aided seven cybercrime victims in May 2026.PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the gains “reflect a more proactive and responsive police organization adapting to the realities of modern crime,” adding that the PNP continues to boost its capabilities to make online spaces safe and accountable.“Patuloy nating pinapalakas ang kakayahan ng ating mga cyber operatives dahil ang krimen ngayon ay hindi na lamang sa lansangan nangyayari, kundi pati na rin sa digital na mundo.
