Otoki Corp., a major Korean food company, said Monday it has established a branch in Tokyo ahead of its planned operation in September as part of its ongoing effort to expand its presence around the world.

The Japan branch will be the company's fourth overseas operation, following those in New Zealand, the United States and Vietnam.

Otoki, formerly known as Ottogi and best known for its Jin Ramen brand, said it will focus on "ramyeon" products, Korean sauces and sesame oil in Japan and gradually expand the product lineup to meet local demand.

The move is part of the company's goal to increase overseas sales to 1.1 trillion won ($750 million) by 2030.
