The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) Worldwide has condemned what it described as threats against Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, by an individual claiming to be a leader of Arewa Youths.
The group made its position known in a press statement issued on Sunday, March 31, 2026, by its National President General, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka.
The controversy followed reactions to comments made by Ejimakor after the launch of former Head of State, retired General Yakubu Gowon’s book, which referenced the 1967–1970 civil war.
OYC said it had become aware of a viral video featuring a man who identified himself as “Danbature” and claimed to be the president of Arewa Youths, in which he allegedly issued threats against Ejimakor over his remarks.
