HyderabadCongress MP and senior leader Mallu Ravi launched a sharp attack on BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, alleging that they had “lost their balance following their party’s series of electoral defeats.”Addressing the media on Sunday, Mr. Mallu Ravi said that the governance being provided by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is exemplary by every measure and setting a benchmark for other States. He claimed that Telangana was emerging as a model State for development and welfare under the Congress government.“The Telangana model is being appreciated across the country. States such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu are also looking at Telangana’s initiatives as an example,” he said. The Congress MP contrasted the present political atmosphere with that during the previous BRS regime. He recalled that Congress leaders had spent 10 years in the Opposition and faced severe restrictions.“We were not even allowed to step out freely and voice our opinions during the previous government. Despite that, we fought democratically and remained committed to people,” he said.Mr. Mallu Ravi alleged that while the Congress government had ensured freedom for political opponents, some BRS leaders were using provocative language. “Instead of constructive criticism, BRS leaders are making statements about demolishing and blowing things up. Such rhetoric is irresponsible and unacceptable in a democracy,” he remarked. The criticism of BRS leaders was more out of frustration that the government was able to implement welfare schemes that benefitted all the sections. The BRS has realised that there was no future for them and were hell bent on spreading falsehood, he alleged. Published - May 31, 2026 08:19 pm IST
