The delegation's visit comes amid growing concern over the safety of schoolchildren after armed men reportedly invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in the Esiele and Yawota communities within Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State and whisked away dozens of pupils and their teachers.

A presidential delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, on Sunday arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the mass abduction of about 46 pupils and teachers from two schools in the state.

The delegation's visit comes amid growing concern over the safety of schoolchildren after armed men reportedly invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in the Esiele and Yawota communities within Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State and whisked away dozens of pupils and their teachers.

The development was disclosed by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Public Communications, in a post shared on his X account on Sunday afternoon, more than two weeks after the incident occurred.

According to Dare, the delegation was travelling to the affected communities to assess the situation and coordinate efforts aimed at securing the release of the victims.
