Coimbatore district will host the SKAL India National Congress 2026 from August 12 to 15.Organised by SKAL International Coimbatore, the conference will be held at Le Meridien and bring together tourism, travel and hospitality professionals, industry representatives and stakeholders from across India and abroad.The event was launched at The Residency Towers on Saturday (May 30, 2026). T. Srinivasan, Managing Director of Annapoorna Hotels,was the chief guest. Satheesh K.S., Regional Passport Officer, Coimbatore, T. Jegatheeswari, District Tourism Officer, and Sundar Singaram, Executive Director of the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association, were present.Addressing reporters, Sanjeev Mehra, president of SKAL India, SNS Mohan, vice-president of SKAL International, Ramesh Chandrakumar, president of SKAL International Coimbatore, P.K. Ganesh, conference chairman, and Nijo Augustine, secretary, said the congress would provide a platform to present Tamil Nadu's culture, heritage and tourism destinations to delegates.They said the event aims to promote Coimbatore and nearby destinations among tourism stakeholders and increase visitor footfall to the region. Delegates will be taken on visits to tourism locations and introduced to local food and heritage.The conference will include discussions on tourism, environmental conservation, community participation and heritage preservation.
