The three-day national convention of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) that will conclude in Coimbatore on Sunday has brought together nearly 800 delegates.
Policymakers, senior government officials, industry leaders, global professionals, academicians and students are participating in the event to deliberate on the evolving role of Cost and Management Accountants (CMAs) in India’s economic and industrial transformation, said a press release from T.C.A. Srinivasa Prasad, president of the ICMAI.
The theme “RISE India – Reposition India and CMAs, Intensify Growth, Strengthen Competence & Enhance Capabilities” highlights the growing strategic relevance of CMAs in strengthening cost competitiveness, driving productivity, ensuring sustainability, enabling ESG adoption, and supporting data-driven decision-making in both, manufacturing and service sectors.
There were plenary and technical sessions, and CMA Leaders’ Meet, structured around four topics: repositioning India and CMAs; intensifying growth of the profession; strengthening competence and capability; and enhancing capabilities for manufacturing and service leadership.
Thought leaders and domain experts shared insights on strategy, governance, cost management, digital transformation, sustainability, ESG, manufacturing excellence, Industry 5.0, global consulting ecosystems and emerging technologies, the release added.
