Oyo Abduction: Woman begs Makinde to rescue kidnapped daughter-in-law, grandchildren

A distraught woman has appealed to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to intensify efforts to secure the release of her daughter-in-law, four grandchildren and other victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The woman made the emotional appeal during the governor’s visit to the affected community on Saturday, pleading for urgent action to ensure the safe return of her family members still in captivity.

“Please have mercy on us. My daughter-in-law and four grandchildren are among the kidnapped victims. My daughter-in-law is the woman carrying a baby on her back, who spoke in a viral video. She is a teacher,” she said.

The abductees, including teachers, pupils and residents, were reportedly taken when armed men invaded schools and surrounding communities in the Esiele and Yawota areas of Oriire LGA.
