The All Women Police Station (AWPS), Thousand Lights, has booked a case against two film producers after a fellow woman producer alleged that they subjected her to harassment and public humiliation for questioning the Tamil Film Producers Council’s (TFPC) accounts.The 54-year-old victim alleged that the council’s annual reports for 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 were never placed before its general body. After she complained about it to the District Registrar, she was allegedly suspended for three months. Though she secured relief from the Chennai Civil Court, the accused allegedly demanded a public apology as a condition for reinstatement.At a TFPC election meeting in November 2025, the duo allegedly forced her to apologise publicly and verbally abused her.They also allegedly threatened her against contesting the council elections and circulated derogatory messages on WhatsApp groups.
