The case has added to the growing scrutiny around the film franchise, which has already been facing legal attention in recent weeks over a separate PIL linked to Dhurandhar 2.According to reports by India Today, the complaint was filed at Chandigarh’s Sector-17 police station by a woman from New Delhi. Police later registered a case under Sections 74, 79, 123 and 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after conducting a preliminary inquiry. Johray has reportedly been granted bail. He has not issued any public statement on the allegations so far.Woman says she joined the film as Assistant Art DirectorAs mentioned in the complaint, the woman said she was studying at a government college when her resume was forwarded to the Dhurandhar team by a faculty member. She alleged that she was hired as an Assistant Art Director on September 2, 2025.The complainant claimed that Saini S Johray introduced himself as her mentor and told her he was an alumnus of Delhi College of Art, which helped her trust him professionally. She further alleged that he later called her to Taj Hotel in Chandigarh for what was described as a work-related discussion.According to the complaint, she initially believed it would be a meeting involving other members of the crew. However, after reaching the hotel, she realised nobody else had been invited. The woman also alleged that Johray repeatedly told her not to inform anyone about the meeting and warned that it could affect her professional reputation.Allegations linked to hotel meeting in ChandigarhThe woman stated in her complaint that she reached the hotel room around 8.30 pm on September 10, 2025. She alleged that Johray pressured her into consuming alcohol and prepared a drink with wine and rum despite her reluctance. She further claimed that shortly after consuming the drink, she began feeling dizzy and unwell. According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that she repeatedly requested to leave the room, but was stopped from doing so.The complaint also stated that Johray allegedly tried teaching her bachata dance and during that time engaged in inappropriate physical contact and made unwelcome advances toward her.The woman alleged that her health worsened within minutes and that she vomited multiple times. She claimed that even while she was in the bathroom, Johray allegedly continued behaving inappropriately. The complaint further accused him of forcing her onto a bed later in the night and pressuring her to stay back in the hotel room.According to her statement, she was physically weak, frightened and unable to resist. She eventually left the hotel the next morning using a bike taxi.Complainant alleges continued harassmentApart from the incident at the hotel, the woman has also accused Johray of later filing complaints against her, which she claimed caused additional mental distress.Police investigation into the matter is currently underway. Officials have not shared further details publicly at this stage. Reports also noted that the allegations mentioned in the FIR are the complainant’s version of events and the legal process is continuing.Johray, who reportedly lives in Oberoi Springs in Mumbai’s Andheri West area, had recently drawn attention for designing a large-scale replica of Pakistan’s Lyari Town in Thailand for the Dhurandhar film project.Separate legal trouble for Dhurandhar 2Meanwhile, the Dhurandhar franchise has also been dealing with another legal issue connected to Dhurandhar 2. A Public Interest Litigation filed in the Delhi High Court alleged that the espionage thriller disclosed tactical and sensitive information linked to India’s intelligence operations.As per PTI, the PIL was filed by a Sashastra Seema Bal personnel, who claimed that certain scenes in the film revealed classified protocols and could compromise the safety of undercover agents. The Delhi High Court later directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the CBFC to examine the concerns raised in the petition and take an informed decision on the matter.The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, stars Ranveer Singh, R.
