Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A.Amalraj inspects vehicles at Armed Reserve unit in Egmore
Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj has directed police personnel to ensure that complainants visiting police stations are not kept waiting unnecessarily for Community Service Register (CSR) acknowledgements.Over the past three days, the Commissioner inspected 12 police stations, including Arumbakkam, Anna Nagar, Choolaimedu, M.G.R. Nagar, K.K. Nagar and Ashok Nagar, besides reviewing the functioning of Armed Reserve units and police patrol vehicles.He instructed officers to provide proper seating arrangements for complainants and issue CSR receipts without delay. He also directed police personnel to avoid asking complainants to make repeated visits to police stations to collect acknowledgement receipts for their petitions.The Commissioner also instructed officers to keep stations clean and remove old vehicles lying as a heap, occupying space within the station premises. He instructed the officers to identify vulnerable locations within their jurisdictions and strengthen surveillance through increased police patrols and deployment of personnel in sensitive areas.
