Over 200 young women held a rally for menstrual, sexual and reproductive health rights in Chennai on Saturday early morning.Observing the International Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Centre for Women’s Development and Research (CWDR) organised the rally to stress on the need for comprehensive sex education, free sanitary napkins, safe and functional toilets.According to a press release, the rally also threw light on creating safe and accessible public spaces to prevent discrimination and violence. “While issues such as sexual violence and abuse are generally given more attention, equal importance should be given to promoting the rights, health, education, safety and leadership of young women,” said the Renuka, director, CWDR.
