A five-year-old girl who went missing at Chennai Egmore Railway Station on Friday evening was quickly traced and reunited with her parents after Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel conducted an intensive search operation.The incident was reported around 5 pm on Platform No. 5 at Chennai Egmore Railway Station when the Kanyakumari Express (Train No. 12633) was getting ready to depart. RPF Constable Swathi, who was assigned security duty on the train, noticed a distressed woman near the unreserved compartment at the rear end of the train searching for her daughter.The woman told the constable that her five-year-old daughter had gone missing amid the crowd at the station. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Constable Swathi immediately informed GRP personnel and initiated a search operation on the platform.A few minutes later, the RPF and GRP personnel located the child near an AC coach on Platform No. 5, where she was found standing alone and crying. The girl was immediately secured and brought back to her family.Police inquiries later revealed that the child, identified as Darshana, had accidentally become separated from her parents while moving through the crowded railway station.
