After the Tariff Judgment, Capetonians deserve answers, apology and accountability, writes Faiez Jacobs.
Cape Town is a beautiful city. But beauty must never be used to hide pain.
Behind the mountain, beaches, blue flags and international rankings, many Capetonians are struggling. Families are counting every rand. Pensioners are choosing between food, electricity and municipal bills. Working parents are carrying unemployed children. Backyard dwellers are waiting for dignity. Small businesses are suffocating under rising costs. Communities on the Cape Flats are told to be patient while their daily reality becomes harder.
In this context, municipal tariffs are not technical matters.
They are kitchen-table matters.
