Japan has joined the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme, allocating over US$14.6 million for the purchase of non-lethal military equipment to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Details: Following a decision by the Japanese government, the funds are intended exclusively for the supply of non-lethal equipment. The specific list of machinery and hardware will be coordinated directly with NATO.

"Japan will continue to support to Ukraine in order to achieve a just and lasting peace and intends to further strengthen Japan-NATO cooperation," the Japanese Foreign Ministry stated.
