ANILA, Philippines — The Visayas grid remained under yellow alert on Saturday due to high power demand forecasts and thin operating reserves, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the yellow alert would be in effect from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The grid operator said four large coal-fired power plants were unavailable, while several other power plants were either offline or operating at reduced capacities.
