A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe State, Abdulkadir-Hamma Saleh, has petitioned the party’s governorship appeals panel, alleging that he was wrongfully excluded from the primary election that produced Prof Isa Pantami as the party’s candidate.
In a letter dated May 27, 2026, and addressed to the chairman of the panel in Gombe, Saleh said he was duly screened and cleared by the screening committee headed by former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi, but was not informed about the primary election.
The letter was obtained by our correspondent on Friday in Gombe.
Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, was declared winner of the PDP governorship primary by the Chairman of the PDP Gombe Electoral Panel, Gregory Yenlong.
