According to information obtained by IranWire, in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, two cultural activists from Kermanshah, named Meysam Veisi and Mojtaba Veisi, were killed by direct gunfire from Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces in Dalahu County.

The two brothers were well-known figures within the Yarsan religious minority and are said to have been repeatedly summoned and detained by security agencies over the past several years.

Local sources have confirmed that around 4:00 a.m. on May 28, IRGC forces surrounded the house where the two brothers were staying in the village of Qaleh Kahoush and opened fire on it. It is reported that the operation and gunfire began without any prior warning, and the intensity of the shooting was so severe that both were killed within the opening minutes.

The information received indicates that there is still no news regarding another citizen, Farshad Hatamipour, who was present at the location during the IRGC raid, and no official agency has provided information about his status or whereabouts.

In March 2025, Mojtaba Veisi was arrested during the organization and preparation of Nowruz celebrations in Kermanshah. Following several weeks of interrogation and detention in solitary confinement, he was temporarily released on heavy bail.
