President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday claimed that Nigeria is gradually recovering economically and stabilising under his administration despite widespread hardship, rising inflation, hunger and worsening living conditions faced by millions of citizens across the country.
In a nationwide address to commemorate the third anniversary of his administration, Tinubu defended the controversial economic reforms introduced since assuming office on May 29, 2023, insisting that the difficult policies were necessary to prevent fiscal collapse.
The Nigerian leader acknowledged the pains caused by the removal of petrol subsidy and the unification of foreign exchange rates but maintained that the sacrifices made by Nigerians “have not been in vain.”
“Today, I can say with confidence that Nigeria has stabilised and is moving forward again,” Tinubu said.
