The High Court in Nairobi has temporarily blocked the government from establishing or facilitating any Ebola quarantine, isolation or treatment facility under the arrangement with the United States, pending hearing of a petition filed by Katiba Institute.
The court also barred the admission or transfer into Kenya of persons exposed to or infected with Ebola under the disputed programme, saying public interest favoured the grant of interim conservatory orders. The case will be mentioned on June 2, 2026.
