Arewa PUNCH investigations has revealed that Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has began visits to traditional rulers across the state to formally notify them of his endorsement as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general elections.
Our correspondent gathered that part of the visits were to also seek royal blessings for himself and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the first leg of the visit took place at the palace of the Emir of Gwandu, Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar, where the governor was accompanied by prominent APC stakeholders, including former governor Sa’idu Usman Dakingari, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, and APC state chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana Zuru.
Speaking during the visit, Idris said he was at the palace to formally inform the emir of the decision of APC members in Kebbi State to endorse him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the forthcoming elections.
